Superior Glove Works Ltd. is currently hiring for a Facility Maintenance Associate to work out of its Global Headquarters located in Acton, ON, Canada.
More about the role:
Reporting to the Plant Manager the Facility Maintenance Associate is responsible for maintaining the facility in good working order/repair, upkeep of the property including snow removal in the winter, troubleshooting and repairing equipment, and providing support to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operations of production activities through regular equipment maintenance.
This individual is highly proactive with strong technical skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities:

Perform inspections of the facility and mechanical equipment to ensure safe and proper operations.

Complete general repairs including but not limited to minor plumbing, carpentry, electrical and mechanical work, painting, and drywall repairs.

Maintain the outdoor premises as required, including grounds keeping, mowing lawn, maintaining gardens, and snow removal and shoveling walkways and exits.

Provide support in the installation and/or modification of machinery and equipment, including set up, operations, and monitoring for quality standards.

Perform breakdown, preventative/corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting for the production department equipment.

Test and monitor machinery and assist with any changes or modifications needed as required by the Engineering team.

Maintain spare parts inventory for the production and packaging department. Troubleshoot technical issues on production machinery, apply safeguards and lock out, tag out (LOTO) procedures as required.

Calibrate and test machinery; install and assemble parts/modifications as per engineering specifications.

Organize and implement a schedule for semi-annual maintenance shutdown activities.

Establish schedules for routine maintenance and care of the property, including but not limited to changing, lights, cleaning ductwork, operation of floor cleaner, and troubleshooting.

Clean and maintain the maintenance shop and other areas of the facility as required.

Coordinate with external contractors, workshops, suppliers, and/or consultants for ad hoc projects.

Ensure building work requests are addressed in a timely manner.

Maintain accurate and clear documentation for reference and audit purposes.

Act as a backup for the warehouse area, including shipping, receiving, and operating forklift.

Maintain equipment certification, WHMIS and other required annual training.
Qualifications:
-
2 years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of mechanical electrical and pneumatic systems.

Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

Ability to lift 50 pounds on occasion during a shift, and 10 pounds during regular duties.

Strong troubleshooting and problem skills.

Strong sense of urgency, excellent time management and organizational skills.

Ability to critically analyze problems and develop effective solutions

General verbal and numerical intelligence.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
