New Era Ag Technologies Ltd. is seeking a driven, knowledgeable individual to join our team in Melfort, Saskatchewan. We provide high-value crop inputs and advanced agronomic services to producers in the region, and we are growing. This role combines hands-on agronomy, retail operations, and business development. The right candidate will be confident working across all three.
The Ideal Candidate
Agronomically Strong: You bring deep expertise in crop management and precision agronomy. You are comfortable developing and integrating precision agronomy programs for clients, including Variable Rate (VR) seeding plans and prescription files. Your experience spans a broad range of crop inputs, including canola seed and crop protection products.
Experienced in Retail Operations: You understand how agricultural retail works. You know how to manage sales targets, oversee inventory, and execute pricing programs for chemical and seed inputs. You can move between the field and the retail environment with ease.
Strong Product Knowledge: You are familiar with the products that move through an ag retail business, including seed treatments, chemical packages, and crop inputs. You can translate that knowledge into practical recommendations for producers and effectively support supplier relationships.
A Natural Business Builder: You are capable of building a book of business from the ground up. You generate new client relationships and leverage your existing networks within the Saskatchewan agriculture sector. You are motivated by growth and bring that energy to everything you do.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary agronomic consultant, delivering comprehensive crop plans and nutrient strategies
- Develop and integrate precision agronomy programs for clients, including VR seeding and prescription file creation
- Manage key supplier relationships and implement sales programs tailored to our product offerings
- Lead new business acquisition efforts to meet growth targets
- Oversee retail operations, including inventory management and pricing program execution
- Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless delivery of agronomy services and client support
Qualifications
- Experience: Agricultural retail experience required; field agronomy experience strongly preferred.
- Certification: CCA certification, or demonstrated commitment to achieving it.
- Professional Membership: Member of, or actively working toward membership with, the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists.
- Agronomic Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of canola seed, crop protection products, and seed treatment programs across prairie growing conditions.
- Business Acumen: Proven ability to build client relationships and grow a book of business
- Communication: Clear, direct written and verbal communication skills and the organizational discipline to manage a territory independently.
