We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Business Partner to be a key player in our dynamic HR team based at our South Edmonton Corporate Head Office.
This role will act as the primary trusted advisor for our Stores, Retread, Distribution, and Mining Managers, focusing on effective associate relations support, performance management, and the prevention and resolution of workplace issues, ensuring a positive and productive workplace culture. Competitive salary: base salary up to $85,000 per year plus a Short-Term Incentive Program with a target incentive of 10% to recognize your contributions to the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
Associate Relations Support: Provide ongoing coaching and support to managers on associate relations issues including workplace investigations, performance management, discipline and terminations.
Leave Management: Support managers with leaves of absence, including collecting supporting information, communicating with associates, and supporting managers in the ongoing leave cases and return to work process.
Lead Employment Standards Compliance: Assist managers in addressing Employment Standards complaints to achieve ethical and effective resolutions.
Support HR Initiatives: Assist the Human Resources Manager with executing and analyzing the annual engagement survey. Collaborate in designing and implementing associate performance review tools and processes, including formal programs for field associates.
HR Documentation and Records Management: Prepare and manage HR documents such as offer letters, fitness-for-work forms, warnings, termination letters, exit interviews and overtime agreements. Maintain accurate records of Associate Relations issues.
Recruitment: Support managers in addressing their recruiting challenges including providing coaching on recruitment strategy, posting jobs, and sourcing candidates for hard to fill roles.
HR Systems and Policy Management: Review and update HR processes and policies to ensure they are current and effective while working with managers to address policy gaps and develop new guidelines as needed.
Training and Development: Develop and deliver presentations that educate and support Managers in the practice of effective Associate Relations. This includes annual presentations on Fountain Tire's internal leadership and management development workshops.
Organizational Interactions: Work collaboratively with the payroll, recruitment, and greater HR team to provide effective and efficient service and support.
What does it take to get on track?

The successful candidate will possess a university degree and specific formal education in Human Resources

At least 3 years of experience working as a specialist in employee relations or 5 or more years’ experience in a human resources generalist role with an employee relations component.

Must possess or be eligible to obtain a CPHR designation.

Strong knowledge of provincial Employment Standards and Human Rights legislation/regulations with excellent writing and research skills.

Proven ability to apply solid logic and judgment in investigating problems and evaluating viable solutions.

Effective communication, consultation, coaching and conflict management skills. This includes the ability to deliver these supports over the telephone or via email.

Strong computer skills with intermediate or greater proficiency in all facets of MS Office.

Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with team members, associates, and vendors.

A customer service and continuous improvement focus supported by excellent organizational and time management skills to manage independent work
