The Regional Airline Contracts Advisor reports to the Director, Regional Airlines & Markets and serves as an advisor on contractual matters relating to Air Canada's regional airline partnerships, including Capacity Purchase Agreements (CPAs), Transportation Services Agreements (TSAs), and related commercial arrangements.
The position is responsible for, supporting contract negotiations and amendments, identifying contractual risks and opportunities, monitoring compliance with performance standards, and coordinating the implementation of contractual initiatives across Air Canada and its regional operating partners.
In addition to contract management responsibilities, the role supports operational and strategic projects affecting Air Canada's regional network. The incumbent works cross-functionally with Operations, Network Planning, Finance, Legal, Airports, Flight Operations, Customer Experience, Procurement, Government Relations, and regional airline partners to deliver initiatives that improve safety, reliability, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and customer experience.
This position may be located in Montreal or Toronto.
Responsibilities:
Contract Management & Advisory

Act as analyst and advisor on contractual matters relating to:

Jazz Aviation CPA.
-
PAL Airlines Commercial Agreement.
-
Landline Transportation Services Agreement.
-
Other regional, interline, or transportation agreements as assigned.

Review contractual provisions and support internal stakeholders in understanding related requirements, obligations, and potential implications.

Support the negotiation, drafting, implementation, and administration of contract amendments, side letters, and commercial agreements.

Coordinate with Corporate Legal, Finance, Procurement, and operational departments to ensure contractual alignment and compliance.

Maintain knowledge of contractual provisions, performance standards, fleet commitments, service level agreements, financial mechanisms, and governance structures.

Monitor regulatory, operational, and industry developments that may affect contractual obligations or strategic relationships.
Commercial & Performance Oversight
-
Analyze regional carrier operating performance against contractual targets and service commitments.
-
Assess financial and operational impacts arising from proposed contractual changes.
-
Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning activities involving regional partners.

Support business cases and recommendations related to operational investments, and commercial initiatives.

Identify opportunities to enhance value generation, reduce costs, improve productivity, and strengthen partner performance.
Governance & Relationship Management
-
Coordinate governance forums, executive reviews, quarterly business reviews, and performance meetings with regional partners.

Prepare executive-level presentations, reports, performance dashboards, and briefing materials.

Serve as a liaison between Air Canada functional teams and regional partners.

Support dispute resolution activities and facilitate collaborative solutions to operational and contractual issues.

Build strong working relationships with senior leaders across Air Canada and partner organizations.
Regional Airline Operational Projects
-
Support strategic and operational projects affecting regional airline operations and partner performance.
-
Manage initiatives related to operational reliability improvements, schedule recovery and resilience, airport readiness and operational launches, customer experience enhancements, technology and process improvements

Coordinate project teams drawn from multiple operational and commercial departments.
-
Support implementation plans, milestones, risk assessments, and executive reporting.
-
Support the delivery of projects by monitoring progress against established operational, financial, and customer objectives and escalating risks or issues as required.
Strategic Analysis
-
Conduct research and benchmarking of regional airline business models, capacity purchase agreements, transportation partnerships, and industry best practices.

Support the assessment of strategic alternatives by conducting analysis and preparing recommendations related to regional operating structures and partnership opportunities.
-
Support corporate initiatives involving regional growth, network expansion, and emerging transportation solutions.
-
Develop presentations and briefing materials for senior leadership and executive decision-making.
-
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
-
University degree in business administration, aviation management or a related field, or equivalent years of experience.
-
Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with regional carriers or similar partners.

Strong interest in the regional carrier business model and industry.
-
Previous procurement, finance or accounting experience is an asset.

Holistic thinker, storytelling via data and entrepreneurial approach to task and projects.

Understanding of business performance & reporting.
-
Ability to support project planning and coordinate contributions from internal and external stakeholders within an established project framework. Self-starter with demonstrated interpersonal skills and initiative.

Good communication and negotiation skills.

Established network of contacts within AC commercial and operational branches is a bonus.
