TITLE: Social Media Coordinator
PURPOSE
The Social Media Coordinator will implement KNA’s Social Media Strategy, developing brand awareness, generating inbound traffic and encouraging product adoption. This role coordinates with the internal marketing and public relations teams to support their respective missions, ensuring consistency in voice and cultivating a social media referral network.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
o Implements the social media strategy for KNA, coordinating with the stakeholders to ensure its effectiveness and encouraging adoption of relevant social media techniques into the corporate culture and into all of the company’s products and services.
o Manages the “Kärcher Me” marketing campaign schedule, managing and directing the event marketing partners’ activities in target markets to fulfill event marketing and brand awareness objectives.
o Coordinates with sales the social media communications to optimize and support distributors in driving customer traffic in each market.
o Works with the Product Development team to ensure social media tools (such as FB connect, Sharing buttons) are kept up to date.
o Manages social media campaigns and day-to-day activities (online advocacy, writing editorial, community-outreach efforts, promotions, etc.).
o Manages KNA presence in social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, and other similar community sites, posting on relevant blogs and seeding content into social applications as needed.
o Serves as an advocate in KNA’s social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate.
o Manages a Blogger outreach program and builds an active “brand ambassador” network to spread the word about KNA.
o Monitors effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs and analyzes, reviews, and reports on the effectiveness of campaigns in order to maximize results.
o Provides regular feedback gained from social media by monitoring the marketing and editorial teams to help them evolve their strategies in a timely fashion.
o Monitors trends in social media tools, trends, and applications.
QUALIFICATIONS
o Bachelor’s degree in Business Communications or related area or equivalent combination of education and experience.
o Five (5) years’ experience managing marketing, event, and trade show agencies.
o Strong project management and/or organizational skills.
o Experience in public relations, marketing, sales, community management experience is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
o Demonstrates skill in directing and managing event marketing programs in the US and Canada for consumer products.
o Demonstrates skill in creating and deploying a social media campaign that establishes a strong community following an engagement.
o Possesses in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, Digg, YouTube, Twitter, Flickr, etc.) and how they can be deployed in different scenarios.
o Understands and applies knowledge of blogging ecosystems relevant to KNA’s field.
o Effectively communicates information and ideas in written and verbal format.
o Has the fundamental knowledge to effectively research, establish, and maintain relationships.
o Is a skilled team player who takes the lead to guide other departments as needed.
o Understands the technical Search Engine Optimization (SEO) principles.
