New West Mill Installations is an established industrial fabrication shop, located in Kelowna, BC. We specialize in manufacturing top quality pulp/paper and sawmill equipment, structural steel, and custom metal fabrications in various applications for the past 35 years.
We are currently looking for a positive, reliable, self-driven Welder to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to weld/fuse metal components and structural steel together according to precise specifications, using various welding techniques.

Duties & Responsibilities:
· Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and welding symbols to understand the project requirements.
· Weld metal components using flux core and metal core techniques.
· Utilize cutting tools such as torches, grinders and air gouging.
· Operate material-handling equipment.
· Inspect welds to ensure structural soundness and compliance with industry standard.
· Grind, dress, and finish weld surfaces to meet visual, dimensional accuracy, weld quality, and appearance.
· Maintain tools and equipment in proper working order.
· Follow all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe work environment.
· Work independently or as part of a team to meet production deadlines.
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
· Welding: 1-2 Years (preferred)
· Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and shop drawings.
· CWB Certification (FCAW/MCAW/SMAW) would be an asset.
· Use of hand tools/power tools.
· Comfortable working in a fast past, physically demanding environment.
