Lucha Libre Taqueria & Barra Mexicana is a vibrant and energetic Mexican restaurant inspired by the flavors, street food, and culture of Mexico. We are passionate about delivering authentic food, great hospitality, and memorable experiences in a fast-paced and fun environment.
We are looking for a Line Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate is hardworking, organized, and enjoys working in a busy kitchen. Availability during weekdays and weekends, including morning and evening shifts, is required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute menu items according to recipes and company standards
- Assist with food preparation, including washing, chopping vegetables, and portioning ingredients
- Operate kitchen equipment such as fryers, grills, sauté stations, and convection ovens
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations throughout the shift
- Follow First In, First Out (FIFO) inventory procedures
- Label, date, and properly store food products
- Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards are met
- Assist with receiving, stocking, and rotating inventory
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
Requirements
- Experience working in a professional kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift 40+ pounds
- FOODSAFE Level 1 certification is an asset
- Spanish speaking is considered an asset
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
Experience
- Culinary school diploma or equivalent is considered an asset
- Previous experience as a Prep Cook, Line Cook, Restaurant Cook, or similar role preferred
- Ability to multitask and perform under pressure during busy service periods
Compensation
Starting at $19.50 per hour, plus tips.
