Reporting to the Chief External Relations Officer (CERO), the Manager of Brand and Communications is responsible for managing the execution of all strategic corporate communications in support of organizational priorities to ensure brand standards are consistently applied in all communications and promotional materials. This position will focus on the development of brand and communications initiatives to enhance Silvera's reputation amongst the public, key internal/external stakeholders, and targeted customer segments. This will include but is not limited to working at all levels in the organization to support the promotion of the organizational brand narrative across all channels and audiences. The Manager will be responsible for developing, planning, and executing innovative communications strategies, campaigns, and tactics to achieve measurable strategic results.
Key responsibilities include:
As a key member of the external relations team, work closely to identify opportunities to promote initiatives and activities to enhance corporate reputation and achieve organizational objectives.
Provides strategic advice and guidance to organizational leaders and departments to communicate the right information, to the right people, using the right tools, at the right time.
Evaluate and develop operating policies and procedures applicable to Silvera's brand, marketing, and communications strategies and objectives.
Oversee the management and ongoing updates for Silvera's website, intranet, social media, and other electronic communication tools.
Manage and mentor department employees, external graphic designers, and creative consultants.
Ensure communication and marketing materials are researched, written, and edited according to professional/brand standards approved by the organization, including all internal and external materials such as presentations, newsletters, annual/public reports, strategic/business plans, promotional materials, advertisements, news releases, government submissions and electronic communications.
Work collaboratively with sales and leasing/community management on strategic marketing initiatives across Silvera's housing portfolio and service offerings.
Utilize performance data and analytics to gather insights about online behavior and optimize content for improved digital communications/marketing performance including campaign ROI.
Work collaboratively with the external relations team to assesses, recommend, plan, and implement stakeholder communications strategies. Participate in stakeholder/community engagement opportunities.
Identify and facilitate opportunities for Silvera to receive appropriate media coverage.
In alignment with Silvera's strategic plan, develop an annual Brand and Communications strategic/business plan including identification and prioritization of strategic initiatives, budget/resource allocation and performance management/measurement metrics.
Establishes and manages short-medium-long term integrated content calendars.
Support the development, implementation, evaluation, and periodic reporting of Silvera's communications strategy and objectives. Manages approved budget related to role.
Build and manage key internal relationships at all levels of the organization and community sites to ensure internal understanding of communications activities/strategies are maintained and enhanced.
Role models ethical behavior and consistent application of Silvera policies and values.
Participates in Silvera's Health and Safety program.
Leads Silvera's Internal Communications Working Group and actively participates in other Silvera committees/projects as assigned.
Desired qualifications:
A minimum of 8 years of senior experience in communications, marketing, or public/stakeholder relations in mid to large organization(s).
A Bachelor's and/or Master's degree(s) in communications, business administration, or related fields (journalism, public relations, marketing, political science).
Experience leading content development strategies across a diverse spectrum of channels and audiences.
Knowledge of best practices in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) writing for social, digital, and web channels would be considered an asset.
Proven record of strong organizational, project, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities while demonstrating exceptional writing and editing skills.
Demonstrate an ability to adhere to deadlines, while working either independently or in a team environment. Creative thinker with strong attention to detail.
Ability to think strategically, lead teams, identify/manage risks and execute at an elevated level.
Excellent planning/critical thinking skills/time management and organizational skills.
Exceptional interpersonal, customer service, communication, and persuasion skills.
Experience with relevant software applications.
Demonstrate Silvera values and passion for serving older adults.
A valid drivers' license with access to a reliable vehicle along with the ability to travel to Silvera locations.
