Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Ethnic Food Cook (NOC 63200) to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for authentic ethnic cuisine, excellent food preparation skills, and experience working in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This role involves preparing, cooking, and serving traditional dishes while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook authentic ethnic dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Ensure all food is handled safely and stored properly in compliance with food safety regulations
- Serve food to customers efficiently and courteously in a timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure hygiene
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service hours
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs for replenishment of ingredients and supplies
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service, preferably within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong knowledge of ethnic cuisine preparation techniques and ingredients
- Excellent food handling skills with a focus on safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to serve customers professionally and efficiently
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
- Good organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure during busy periods
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a commercial kitchen
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
