Windy Point Soap Making Supplies and Fired Clay Pottery Studio are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Part-Time Accounting Assistant to support the day-to-day accounting functions of both businesses. This role will focus heavily on inventory management, bookkeeping, and financial administration across both companies. As a newly created position, the role offers an opportunity to grow and evolve alongside our organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Update inventory receipts in our websites and accounting systems on a daily basis
- Perform cyclical inventory counts and investigate inventory discrepancies
- Reconcile inventory records between systems
- Enter supplier invoices accurately and efficiently into our accounting systems
- Update daily sales transactions from our websites into our accounting software
- Process monthly billing through our subscription platform
- Assist with bookkeeping and accounting activities for both companies
- Provide general administrative support as required
- Assist with other accounting and operational tasks as the role develops
Qualifications & Requirements
- Proven bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Proficiency with accounting software; experience with Sage 50 Premium is considered a strong asset
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when working with financial and inventory data
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities
- Experience with inventory management or inventory reconciliation is considered an asset
