Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Part-time Tutor/Teacher to support students in achieving their academic goals. This role offers a connection with excellent families and clients to work with and teacher training, if needed. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, excellent communication skills, and experience working with children. This position is perfect for individuals looking for part-time work on weekends and evenings. You must have access to your own vehicle for in-person tutoring in the South of Calgary.
Duties
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in designated subject areas
- Develop customized lesson plans tailored to each student’s needs and learning style
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Communicate student and family needs to employer
- Create engaging and interactive learning activities to motivate students
- Assist students with homework, test preparation, and skill development
- Strong time-management skills and being prompt for meetings/sessions
Skills
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, preferably with children or adolescents
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey concepts and motivate students
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles and needs
- Classroom experience is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with educational environments
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students of varying ages
- Organizational skills to plan lessons and track student progress effectively
- Passion for education and helping students succeed
Pay: $50.00-$75.00 per hour
