· Production Oversight: Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of workers who process, package, and grade fish and seafood products.
· Operational Planning: Establish methods to meet production schedules and coordinate work flow with other departments like logistics and quality control.
· Problem Solving: Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and seafood quality (e.g., yield optimization).
· Supplies: Requisition materials and supplies needed for fish processing (e.g., salt, packaging, ice).
· Staff Training: Train workers in job duties, safety procedures, and food safety standards (like HACCP or GFSI).
· Reporting: Prepare production and other reports regarding harvest volumes and labor hours.
