Senior Manager
Our client is looking for a Senior Manager to join their team in Sherwood Park. The successful candidate will work with a diverse group of privately held dynamic and not-for-profit organizations acting as a Business Advisor to clients. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working in an entrepreneurial culture and having input into key strategic decisions.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
- Lead, execute and review work for client engagements
- Take responsibility for and managing engagements, including managing client relationships
- Plan and lead teams to ensure that client expectations are communicated
- Be proactive in problem-solving with the team or clients.
- Report to Partners with overall management of engagement pricing and budgeting
- Be a leader in the organization by actively contributing to the development and execution of the office business plan
- Participate in the coaching and performance management process of the practice by conducting timely performance reviews, providing ongoing feedback and training to develop junior team members
Your strengths include:
- Completed a CPA designation, with a minimum of 5 years post-designation experience is preferred.
- Strong background in reviewing audit engagements and working with owner-managed clients and non-profits within a public practice scope
- Desire to manage teams within the audit and the small business group
- Build and deepen meaningful business relationships with colleagues, clients and in the marketplace, based on strong rapport, trust and respect
- Strong people management focus, and coaching orientation
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Knowledge of relevant accounting frameworks and file documentation best practices
- Knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE)
- Knowledge of Canadian Audit Standards (CAS)
- Knowledge of Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO)
- Proficient in Caseware and Profile
- Strong business acumen
- Strong computer skills (especially in Microsoft Office)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven ability in results management
