THE OPPORTUNITY
Nido de Montessori is a diverse educational community, offering children an exceptional education in a nurturing environment. Guided by both Inquiry-based and Montessori pedagogies, our program is tailored to the individual needs of each child, with an intentional focus on social and emotional development, curiosity, and meaningful learning experiences.
We are seeking a thoughtful, experienced, and reflective Early Childhood Educator to join our After School Enrichment Program. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about working with young children (ages 3–5), fostering meaningful relationships, and creating a safe, and nurturing environment that supports children's development beyond the school day.
The After School Enrichment Program Educator will work directly with children and educators to support meaningful learning experiences and classroom documentation.
THE ROLE
As the After School Enrichment Program Educator, you will:
- Prepare snacks before the program begins.
- Prepare and maintain clean, organized, and engaging classroom environments
- Establish loving, positive, safe, and secure relationships with children
- Support and supervise children throughout the program.
- Document children’s learning and communicate effectively with families and colleagues
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with families and the broader community
- Uphold Nido’s Code of Conduct and policies, and professional standards
THE QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have:
- Valid BC Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certification
- Valid Emergency Child Care First Aid & CPR/AED Level B
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada
- A commitment to contributing to team goals and fostering a positive and professional workplace
- Strong organizational, collaboration, and reflective practice skills
- A growth mindset and ability to thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment
- A passion for building meaningful relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
COMMITMENT
- Part-time, Permanent
- Position Start Date: September 2026
- Monday to Friday
- Shifts scheduled from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
