What we need:
As a member of a dynamic Interprofessional team, you will be responsible for implementing the three philosophies of Therapeutic Recreation: Functional Intervention, Leisure Education and Recreation Participation. You will work as a collaborative and active member of the team to identify discharge goals and to work with patients and families to achieve these goals.
Work Schedule:
The successful candidate needs to be available to work days Monday to Sundays. Schedule is subject to change, based on operational demands.
Compensation:
Band Q: $31.53- $36.98 per hour
What you bring to MSH:
Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, or related degree plus a post-graduate Therapeutic Recreation Diploma
Current membership with Therapeutic Recreation Ontario
A minimum of one year's experience in a health care facility. Previous experience in a rehab and complex continuing care environment is a definite asset
Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate quality patient centred care programs for specific patient populations
Knowledge of therapeutic recreation resources available in York Region is an asset
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Demonstrated good attendance record with the ability to maintain this same standard
Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required.
