~ Powersports Technician ~
Since June 2014, CanMac has been a trusted name in the marine and powersports industry. What began as a small operation selling new and used boats has grown into a locally owned and operated business that is proud to offer some of the best products in the industry, while delivering exceptional service to customers in East Hants and throughout the Maritime provinces.
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a skilled and dependable Powersports Technician to join our service team. If you have a passion for powersports, the great outdoors, and want to truly love what you do, we want to hear from you! In this role, you’ll play a key part in keeping machines running strong and customers confidently enjoying every ride through quality diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
What you’ll be doing:
- Hands-On Powersports Work: Diagnose, repair, maintain, set up, and complete pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) for motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs/side-by-sides, snowmobiles, dirt bikes, and scooters.
- Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Accurately diagnose, evaluate, and recommend repairs for ATV, UTV, and related powersports products. You don’t guess—you diagnose, and you know when to lean on the right people for guidance.
- Quality-Focused Repairs: Deliver precise, top-quality repairs with zero shortcuts and no compromises.
- Multi-Tasking: Balance engines, diagnostics, repairs, and inspections while keeping quality and efficiency front and centre.
- Independent Work: Confidently manage jobs on your own while delivering strong, consistent results.
- Customer Service Excellence: Provide outstanding customer service, whether directly with clients or through internal support.
- Team Collaboration: Work professionally as part of a team—knowing when to lead, when to support, and how to communicate effectively.
- Physical Work: Safely lift and handle equipment up to 50 lbs as part of daily tasks.
- All-Weather Operations: Work comfortably indoors or outdoors, rain or shine, to get the job done.
- Dependability: Show up consistently, follow through on commitments, and be the reliable go-to when things get busy.
- Reporting Structure: Report directly to the Service Manager and support the overall success of the service department.
What you bring to the table:
- Powersports Experience: Hands-on experience with motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs/side-by-sides, snowmobiles, dirt bikes, scooters, or related powersport products.
- Mechanical Skills: Solid basic mechanical skills with the ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment efficiently.
- Tool Ready: You have your own required tools and know how to use them properly.
- Strong Work Ethic: Able to work independently, stay focused, organized, and take pride in a job well done.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Quick thinking, strong diagnostic ability, and openness to advice, training, and guidance.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer knowledge, including familiarity with Windows-based programs.
- Physical Capability: Comfortable with physically demanding tasks and lifting requirements.
- Team Player Mentality: Professional, adaptable, communicative, and ready to pitch in when needed.
- Passion for Powersports: If it has an engine and wheels—or tracks—you get it, love it, and live it!
