Private Chauffeur Job Description
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Employment Type: Part-Time / Casual Employee
Hours: Primarily evenings, generally between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., with occasional later evenings and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday availability required. Hours will vary based on business, personal, and event requirements.
Position Overview
Inspired HR is working with a confidential client to hire a Private Chauffeur is responsible for providing safe, reliable, discreet, and professional transportation services for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and, from time to time, family members, guests, clients, and business associates.
This position requires an individual who is polished, dependable, highly service-oriented, and comfortable operating luxury vehicles. The successful candidate will understand the importance of confidentiality, professionalism, flexibility, and anticipating the needs of the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
Chauffeur and Transportation Services
- Safely transport the CEO, family members, guests, clients, and business associates to and from residences, offices, meetings, events, restaurants, airports, and other destinations as requested.
- Drive luxury vehicles, including an Escalade and Rolls Royce, with care and attention to vehicle-specific operating requirements.
- Plan efficient routes, monitor traffic and weather conditions, and adjust travel plans as needed to ensure timely arrival.
- Maintain a calm, professional, and courteous manner at all times.
- Assist passengers with entry and exit from the vehicle, luggage, packages, personal belongings, and other reasonable transportation-related needs.
- Remain available during events, appointments, dinners, or meetings when requested, including waiting nearby or returning at an agreed-upon time.
- Support occasional airport transfers, out-of-town driving within Alberta, and evening or weekend event transportation.
Vehicle Care and Readiness
- Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure each vehicle is clean, fueled, safe, and ready for use.
- Maintain a high standard of vehicle cleanliness, including interior and exterior presentation.
- Coordinate or facilitate fueling, car washes, detailing, maintenance appointments, tire changes, and repair requirements, as directed.
- Promptly report any vehicle maintenance, mechanical, safety, damage, or cleanliness concerns.
- Ensure vehicles are securely parked, locked, and protected when not in use.
- Maintain accurate records of fuel purchases, mileage, service appointments, incidents, and other vehicle-related information as requested.
Professional Service and Discretion
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the CEO, family members, guests, schedules, residences, business activities, travel, and personal matters.
- Exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism in all interactions.
- Present in a polished, professional manner, including business attire such as a shirt and tie or other attire specified by the CEO.
- Maintain a professional, welcoming, and respectful demeanor with all passengers, household staff, business contacts, vendors, and event personnel.
- Avoid discussing or disclosing any information obtained through the course of employment.
Additional Support
- Assist with occasional errands and transportation-related tasks, including package collection, dry cleaning, deliveries, or other reasonable requests.
- Provide limited assistance with business-related transportation needs or errands for affiliated companies, as assigned.
- Perform other reasonable duties consistent with the nature and level of the position.
Working Conditions
- The role is primarily based in Calgary, Alberta.
- Work will generally occur during evenings, with occasional late-night, weekend, and statutory holiday requirements.
- Hours are variable and will depend on the CEO’s schedule and transportation needs.
- The employee may occasionally be required to wait between drop-off and pick-up times, attend multiple locations in an evening, or adjust plans on short notice.
- The employee must be comfortable driving in all reasonable Calgary weather and road conditions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s licence, without restrictions that would prevent the employee from performing the essential duties of the role.
- Minimum five years of safe driving experience, preferably including executive, chauffeur, private household, luxury vehicle, hospitality, or client-service experience.
- Clean driver’s abstract acceptable to the employer.
- Successful completion of a criminal record check and vulnerable sector check, if requested.
- Demonstrated experience operating larger SUVs and luxury vehicles is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Calgary roads, neighbourhoods, venues, airports, and major traffic routes.
- Comfortable navigating changing schedules, traffic, weather, late evenings, and weekend assignments.
- Excellent judgment, attention to detail, communication skills, and customer-service instincts.
- High degree of reliability, discretion, professionalism, and personal integrity.
- Ability to maintain a polished business-professional appearance.
- Ability to work a flexible, variable schedule with reasonable advance notice where possible.
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
