Detail-oriented and strategic Production Planner required for a Mississauga manufacturer. You will be responsible for managing production schedules to ensure optimal efficiency and meet customer demands. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain processes, manufacturing operations, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. The Production Planner will play a critical role in coordinating production activities, managing inventory levels, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a lean manufacturing environment.
Duties
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules using ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle to align with demand forecasts and capacity constraints.
- Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
- Utilize demand planning, MRP, and supply chain data to forecast production needs accurately.
- Monitor production progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and adjust plans proactively to meet delivery deadlines.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to quality standards and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production plans, inventory levels, and related metrics for reporting purposes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing production data and recommending process enhancements.
Requirements
- Proven experience with ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
- Strong knowledge of demand planning, MRP, lean manufacturing principles, and supply chain management.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, scheduling techniques, and inventory control methods.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and develop actionable plans.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and presenting information clearly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
