Responsibilities
- Design and implement age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development for infants and toddlers.
- Foster a nurturing environment that supports individual needs, including those of children with disabilities or special educational requirements.
- Maintain detailed documentation of each child's progress, behavior, and milestones to support ongoing development plans.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child's daily experiences, progress, and any concerns.
- Collaborate with team members to plan curriculum enhancements and ensure consistency in teaching approaches.
- Manage classroom routines efficiently, including diapering, feeding, nap times, and transitions between activities.
- Utilize computer skills to record attendance, update educational records, and communicate with families through digital platforms.
Skills
- Proficiency in English; bilingual abilities in French or other languages are highly desirable to support diverse communities.
- Strong background in childcare, early childhood education, or special education with experience working with children of various abilities.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Demonstrated classroom experience with infants and toddlers; ability to create a safe and stimulating learning environment.
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices for early childhood education.
- Ability to manage time efficiently while juggling multiple responsibilities in a busy classroom setting.
