Western Midstream, a leading liquids carrier in Alberta, is seeking a supervisor to join the team on a full-time basis. Based in Edmonton, AB, Western Midstream specializes in hauling oil, condensates, molten and bulk sulphur and other chemicals within Alberta.
Job Description:
Western Midstream is seeking a well-rounded individual able to work in a fast-paced environment to join the operations team in Edmonton, AB. The successful applicant will have a background in the transportation of dangerous goods and previous supervisor experience. This is a dynamic position with a diverse set of responsibilities that requires a hands-on approach.
Pay is based on experience and will be competitive with the market.
Duties:
- Supervising loading and unloading reinforcing Company best practices and standard operating procedures
- Training and orientation of new drivers at load and unload locations
- Assisting with hiring new drivers by performing road tests and helping with orientations
- Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our assets
- Assisting drivers with breakdown, mechanical, incidents and frozen valve issues
- Performing safety checks on equipment with appropriate responses to issues identified
- Providing customer support to on-site personnel
- Supporting drivers by spot checking paperwork
- Facilitating badging process at source and destination locations for new divers
- Ensuring drivers are following site-specific procedures and are PPE compliant
- Shunting trucks and trailers for services when needed
Skills and Qualifications:
Class 1 license
H2S alive
First aid
Demonstrated ability to manage situations calmly, directly, and effectively
5+ years’ experience in transportation of dangerous goods
