About the Role
The Township is seeking passionate and energetic Group Fitness Instructors to join our team at the brand-new Simcoe Woods Community Centre to teach various flexible fitness classes such as general stretching classes, yoga, basic aerobics and targeted strength training like lower/upper body classes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for healthy active living and a talent for motivating others through safe, inclusive, and engaging instruction.
We are currently seeking instructors with specific availability to complement our existing fall schedule (September through December), particularly those available Friday evenings and weekend mornings.
You bring strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to tailor workouts to meet a variety of needs and fitness levels. Above all, you prioritize safety and well-being throughout every class and activity. Certification in group fitness instruction and CPR and First Aid are essential, and a Police Vulnerable Sector Check is required. Additional certifications to teach specialized classes and special populations such as seniors, pre-/post-natal and adapted fitness are an asset. Flexibility is important, as shifts may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
This role offers flexible, dynamic scheduling based on community demand. Compensation is based on an hourly rate which ranges from $20-$30/hr., commensurate with experience and qualifications.
