The Finals Finals Technician is an experienced professional who works closely with the final production team to ensure the efficient assembly of varied hydrovac components and systems. By following prints, drawings and procedures, the team can deliver on a “done-right-the-first-time” basis. Their work ensures that Custom Vac trucks meet the company’s high standards and customers receive the quality vehicle they have come to expect.
Custom Vac offers custom-built industrial vacuum equipment manufactured at our modern facility located in Nisku, Alberta. Our team of highly skilled technicians and tradesmen, with the support of an experienced sales team, will ensure our vacuum equipment is built to meet the needs of our customers.

Responsibilities
Vac Equipment Installation
- Installation of small parts, airlines, glycol lines, electrical boxes, mud flaps, placards, wiring, heaters, burners, boom hoses, wash pumps and reels
- Assembly of components in a wash cabinet
- Use measuring devices, torque tools and various other tools needed to install components
- Fabricate hose assemblies, piping and tubing with hand tools and test bench equipment
- Lifting decks, vertical boxes, hose trays and other larger items
- Climbing and working from the top of the wash cabinet, tank and using ladders and platforms
- Static standing, kneeling, and crawling under trucks and tanks
- Run and test the operation of the unit and wash system ensuring all functions are operational
- Follow Custom Vac Services legislative and regulatory compliance policies and procedures through service process
Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement
- Generate ideas and support process changes which lead to increased efficiency, improved safety and quality, cost reduction and positive morale
- Performing preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure quality operation
- Collaborate with the other teams to find practical solutions to complex problems
- Work with management and support teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve product problems and develop new efficiencies
- Identify non-conformances and make recommendations to management
- Perform other duties, assignments and special projects as directed
Qualifications
Education
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
- Certification in Trades or Technology is an asset
Experience
- 3-5 Years assembly experience
- Experience reading prints and drawings
- Familiarity with Vacuum truck componentry, including vacuum blowers, hydraulics and air installation would be an asset
Competencies (skills, abilities, knowledge)
- Take pride in delivering a quality customer product
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to climb and work from heights using ladders and platforms
- Comfortable with lifting 50 lbs., static standing, kneeling, and crouching
- Ability to practice safe work practices and properly use PPE
- Strong attention to detail required, with the ability to look ahead in the work process
- Strong communication skills and teamwork mentality
