Pork Production Technician: Growing Pig Technician
Canadian Swine Academy is recruiting on behalf of Schlegelhome Farms. They are an agricultural business, located near Shakespeare, Ontario. We are looking for a Growing Pig Technician to manage finishing barns in the Stratford/New Hamburg area.

Terms of Employment: full time, permanent
Job Duties:
● Ensure all animals have access to feed and water
● Handle and move animals as needed
● Perform production tasks including regular vaccinating
● Perform regular health checks to recognize and treat livestock health problems
● Administer medications as needed
● Record various information to maintain livestock production and health records
● Monitor the barn environment and make adjustments to systems as required
● Perform general barn maintenance including pressure washing, disinfecting pens and other housekeeping activities
● Perform minor equipment maintenance & repairs
· Follow all biosecurity procedures
Requirements for Application:
· Desire to keep the animals and the barn in excellent condition
· Able to work in a fast-paced environment
· Able to read, write and speak English
· Availability and willingness to work every other weekend
· Valid G Driver’s license
Work Experience Requirements:
· Experience working with livestock and basic farm knowledge is required
Educational Requirements:
