About the Role
The Local Immigration Partnership brings together community partners across Vernon, Salmon Arm, and Revelstoke to improve coordination and support better settlement outcomes for newcomers. As Assistant LIPC Coordinator, you'll support the LIP Coordinators in day-to-day project coordination, partner engagement, and community research within a collaborative, multi-partner environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Committee Coordination
- Manage projects autonomously and reach established milestones
- Coordinate and facilitate committee meetings
- Plan and coordinate events as needed
Partner Engagement
- Work with diverse, multisectoral partners including settlement agencies, municipalities, businesses, and non-profits
- Liaise with LIP representatives in other regions to share and coordinate project ideas, research, outreach, and promotional opportunities
- Participate in meetings and activities held by partner organizations and neighbourhood networks to build strong partner relationships
Community Consultation & Research
- Conduct comprehensive community consultation and research
- Research best practices and recommend project ideas that enhance newcomers' cultural and community integration, supporting the LIP's strategic planning
- Support the design of survey and evaluation tools
- Coordinate focus groups and surveys with service providers and/or newcomers for research and evaluation purposes
- Help identify community needs and trends through survey administration and data compilation
Evaluation, Monitoring & Reporting
- Conduct evaluation using established measures and collect stories that demonstrate project impact
- Complete monitoring, evaluation, and reporting duties
- Assist with managing budget and narrative reports
Marketing, Outreach & Resource Development
- Support marketing and outreach efforts to promote LIP initiatives
- Conduct extensive outreach and liaise with local community groups
- Develop resources and materials to support project goals
- Support social media engagement
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- University degree in a people-focused, public relations, communications, or cultural-focused discipline
- Demonstrated recent experience in community development and community engagement
- Experience working with multiple partners to support collaboration and community solutions
- Experience facilitating groups, processes, and community engagement
- Cultural Safety training or willingness to take part
- Knowledge of the Vernon, Revelstoke, and Salmon Arm communities, their assets, and resources preferred
Essential Skills
- Strong written and oral English communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals of varying English proficiency

- Excellent computer and internet skills, including MS Office, Excel, and other databases, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams

Other Requirements
