Project Manager 1 - FTT

Annual salary: $ 109,700.00 - 138,700.00
What you'll do
This is one of two Project Manager positions in the Evaluation and QM Department, responsible for managing roughly half
of the Department's work portfolio, including project scoping, scheduling, report writing, implementation and tracking, client
relations, stakeholder engagement, work planning, and budgeting.
The Project Manager provides project management for multidisciplinary teams made up of BC Hydro employees,
consultants, and contractors. The Project manager is also responsible for contract management of consultants and
contractors, and for managing consultation with internal clients and stakeholders, which include all Conservation and
Energy Management groups, the Regulatory and Rates Group, Load Forecasting, and Customer Service.
As part of Conservation and Energy Management, the Evaluation Department estimates the electricity savings and other
impacts that result from BC Hydro’s demand side management (DSM) initiatives and identifies potential improvements to
those initiatives. Evaluation projects usually target a single initiative or program and focus on past results over a period of
several years. Projects integrate primary and secondary research and require advanced planning to identify and collect the
required data. In a typical year, the Project Manager is expected to lead 2 or 3 major projects through the analysis, report
writing, and review phases, as well as scoping and developing plans for 2-4 other projects for future years. Other duties
include managing contracts for outsourced work, including development of scope of work and contract documents,
managing deliverables and relationships with consultants, and managing contractor financials.
What you bring
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, engineering, or a relevant field.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience, including experience managing multiple projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience editing technical reports.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience leading small project teams.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of DSM and DSM evaluation is an asset.
