Summary

As a Working Site Foreperson, you will lead the Precast Installation Crew on-site ensuring efficient operations through collaboration, respect, and accountability. Focusing on logistics, quality, safety, and team well-being, you will foster a culture of operational excellence. You will be installing various precast elements, such as but not limited to, solid architectural cladding panels, insulated wall panels, solid and insulated structural wall panels, modular buildings, structural bleachers, stairs, stair treads, and copings.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be a key member of the team, providing clear direction and support to site crew and other team members. With strong communication and teamwork, you will ensure smooth site operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and service.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a precast installation team
- Assign daily tasks to the team
- Ensure a safe working environment, conduct regular toolbox safety meetings
- Make sure the team follows all health and safety guidelines and all personal protective equipment is used
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Ability to perform your own layout on site
- Ensure the precast elements are installed and connected as per the engineering layout drawings
- Ensure that the work meets all quality specifications by inspecting all completed work
- Consult with the engineering team to address any concerns before and during the installation process
- Communication with the crane operator in the lifting, handling, and guiding of the precast elements
- Organizing and overseeing the deliveries of the precast elements to site and the timing of the deliveries
- Coordinate activities on site with other subcontractors
- Ensure precast elements are installed to meet the project schedule
- Ensure all equipment required for installation is scheduled, properly maintained, and operated
- Document and verify every team member’s hours
- Communication with the manufacturing and engineering team to ensure product status and availability
- Point of contact on site for clients, consultants, and general contractors
Specific Experience:
- Supervising in a unionized environment is considered an asset, showing your ability to lead diverse teams effectively.
- Knowledge around WSIB, Health & Safety and industry regulations
- Past experience with rigging, handling, and installation of large structural steel elements is an asset.

- Hourly wage $46.66 ($66.68 with all union benefits – local 527)
