JOB DESCRIPTION
As a credit operations associate, you will spend each day reviewing merchant applications, websites, personal credit bureaus, and merchant fraud prevention tools to evaluate the legitimacy of merchants and their financial ability to support calculated risk exposure to the Merchant Services business. You will be a decision maker in the onboarding process and will determine if Merchant Services will be able to conduct business with the merchant.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyze new and existing merchant companies, considering financial viability vs. exposure.
- Proficient in reading credit reports (Experian/Equifax).
- Calculates the notional risk associated with each applicant's business model and method of accepting payment instruments consistent with established procedures.
- Conducts information gathering calls with internal & external parties to obtain an overall understanding of the financial profile and to become familiar with processing characteristics, business models and company structure.
- Reviews business model and processing characteristics for existing merchants to ensure and report on compliance with Payment Brand rules and regulations.

- Proficient in reading credit reports (Experian/Equifax).
- The candidate for this position should have 2 years prior credit experience.
- 2 years of experience in a related analytical role.
Experience in a credit analysis or underwriting environment.
