Job description
The Room Attendant ensures the comfort of our guests by cleaning rooms and hallways consistently to hotel standards. The Room Attendant contributes to the success of the Hotel by performing the following duties:
· Checks that rooms have been vacated before cleaning
· Makes beds daily and change bed linen, Vacuums carpets, floors and upholstery
· Cleans bathrooms and supplies with fresh towels and toiletries
· Check and re-stock tea, coffee, sugar, milk and mini bar supplies
· Make sure that televisions, radios, lights and air conditioning equipment are working
· Reports to a supervisor for articles left behind by guests, damage to rooms and any items which appear to have been stolen
· Operates vacuum cleaners to clean floors and work areas, Vacuums and dusts hallways and other designated areas
· Cleans, dusts and polish furniture and fittings
· Sweeps, mops, scrubs and polishes floors, shampoo carpets and rugs, and strip wax and polish from floors
· Cleans walls and windows, kitchen, toilet and bathroom fixtures and floors
· Empties and clean waste containers, Collects and removes garbage and collects and removes lines and disposes of in the designated area
· Cleans bed frames etc when required, Moves furniture as required
· Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification:
· Must have a passion for delivering outstanding service
· Self-motivated, decisive, responsible and driven to achieve goals
· Must be a team player, Strong interpersonal skills, exceptional oral and written communication skills
· Ability to think independently, possess good judgment, proven problem-solving skills and effective decision-making skills
· Ability to remain calm under pressure
· Must be organized and detail-oriented
· Strong multi-tasking skills
· Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays and overnight shifts
· Fluent in English. Proficiency of a second language would be an added advantage
· Minimum 2 years experience in a 4 or 5 Star hotel
· Knowledge in WHMIS and MSDS
· Appreciation for a diverse, multi-cultural environment
