WINTER EQUIPMENT OPERATOR II

Casual Contract (November 1, 2019 to November 30, 2019)

Temporary Full-Time Winter Contract Position (December 2, 2019 to April 3, 2020)

Salary Grid C: $21.62 - $28.45/Hr.

Reporting to and under the direction of the Patrol Supervisor, the Winter Equipment Operator II position will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the operation and maintenance of the County Roads System.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Valid D-Z driver’s licence;
Physically able to perform tasks involving heavy labour;
Minimum of three year’s progressive experience in the operation of heavy trucks and other related equipment;
Mechanical aptitude to perform a wide variety of tasks relating to equipment maintenance, operation and repair.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs the responsibilities of the position within the legislative and regulatory standards set out in the applicable Provincial and Municipal Acts. Performs the responsibilities of the position consistent with the Operational policies of the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville.
Operation of a tandem dump truck equipped with plow, wing and sander equipment during winter months.
Operation of graders, loaders, and packers.
Performance of manual labour on a wide variety of road maintenance and construction jobs.
Servicing, maintenance and repair of assigned equipment.
