About the Opportunity
- Part of the allied health team, working in collaboration with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Recreation Therapists, Recreation Programmers, Social Workers, Dietitians, nursing team, care team, and Nurse Practitioners, to support patients’ functional goals for discharge.
- Administers and assists patients with therapeutic intervention programs as developed by the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist such as mobility, strengthening, range of motion, activities of daily living.
- Prepares and delivers group wellness programs.
- Documents according to policy and procedures (e.g. Daily Patient Care Record, patient progress notes, incident reporting, PPCA, Critical Incidents etc.)
- Observes and monitors patients’ response during treatment and responds accordingly to ensure safety; note conditions and progress for reporting to PT/OT
- Maintains equipment inventory and assists with equipment set-up, cleaning and inspections, and department audits
About You
- A completed a post-secondary Physiotherapy / Occupational Therapy Assistant Program from an approved college or a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology
- Ability to provide a clear criminal record and vulnerable sector check upon hire
- Demonstrated ability to exhibit high standards of ethical conduct, honesty and integrity
- Previous experience working in a healthcare environment would be considered an asset
- A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring patients have access to quality accommodations, services, and care
