Duties:
- Dispense prescription medications to patients and provide appropriate instructions for use
- Review and interpret physicians' orders and ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medication therapy
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Monitor patients' medication therapy for effectiveness, adverse reactions, and interactions
- Provide counseling to patients on the proper use of medications and potential side effects
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of medication therapy
Experience:
- Bachelor's or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution
- Current state pharmacist license in good standing
- Strong knowledge of medication administration, drug interactions, and pharmaceutical calculations
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Skills:
- Proficient in medication dispensing systems and pharmacy software
- Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and dispensing
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing pharmacy practice
