Job Summary:

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving growth through creation and deployment of quarterly territory plans and by partnering effectively with funeral homes within the territory. Leveraging existing network, and developing new, long-term, sustainable & mutually beneficial relationships within the Funeral Industry is a key component for success in this role. This individual will be expected to create a high-performance territory and meet sales goals consistently. This position requires regular travel, and therefore the successful candidate can be based out of anywhere in the Maritime provinces.

Essential Functions:

  • Establish a business growth plan for assigned territory
  • Networking within the Funeral Home Industry to acquire new accounts
  • Making sales presentations to Potential Agents to win accounts
  • Represent the brand and work closely with funeral home owners and other staff members
  • Enhancing customer relations by becoming one of the most helpful sales reps in the business, helping to deliver solutions that create opportunity for our customers
  • Participate on the Senior Management Team having direct impact and influence on company decisions and direction

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience as a licensed funeral service professional REQUIRED
  • Existing network of contacts within the Funeral Industry in the Maritimes
  • A self-motivated professional who is comfortable with sales and conducting group presentations
  • Sales experience is considered an asset but not mandatory
  • Previous experience with customer relationship management is a plus
  • High level of integrity, dedication, and desire to succeed
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently
  • Creative, outgoing, and energetic
  • A good driving record and valid driver’s license with the ability to travel regularly within Maritime provinces
  • Solid work history
  • Bilingualism considered an asset
