Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Cook/Kitchen Hand to join our dynamic food service team. Duties
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients to support chefs and kitchen staff
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and organizing supplies
- Support cooking tasks under supervision, ensuring meals are prepared efficiently and to quality standards
- Handle food safety practices by following proper handling, storage, and hygiene procedures
- Operate basic kitchen equipment and tools safely and effectively
- Assist with serving food to guests or customers in a timely manner
- Support cashiering duties using POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
- Contribute to team efforts by communicating effectively with colleagues and providing excellent guest services
- Follow health regulations and safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe working environment
Skills
- Previous food service experience or kitchen experience preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and positive attitude
- Knowledge of food handling, preparation, and safety standards in a hospitality setting
- Experience with POS systems like Micros POS or similar cash register operations
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and guest interaction
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic understanding of cleaning procedures and food safety regulations
- Hospitality or hotel experience is a plus, especially if combined with barista or meal preparation skills
- Willingness to take on varied tasks including serving, cashiering, cleaning, and assisting in meal prep
