Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will excel in providing exceptional guest services, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth seating arrangements. This role is vital in delivering a positive first impression and enhancing the overall dining experience. Prior hospitality or restaurant experience is preferred, along with excellent communication and customer service skills. The Host/Hostess will be the first point of contact for guests, making their comfort and satisfaction a top priority.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage wait times efficiently
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus promptly
- Handle reservations and seating arrangements
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand area
- Answer phone calls with professional phone etiquette, assisting with reservations or inquiries
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely service
- Manage guest flow during busy hours to optimize seating efficiency
- Assist with special requests or accommodations to enhance guest satisfaction
- Uphold hospitality standards by providing courteous, attentive service at all times
Skills
- Strong guest services and customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Experience in serving, hospitality, or food service environments preferred
- Knowledge of restaurant operations and POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and interpersonal interactions
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and demeanor aligned with hospitality standards
- Previous hotel or restaurant experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to work well within a team and adapt to changing priorities
