Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists the Housekeeping Manager when needed to ensure the common goal of a clean, well-maintained hotel as per brand standards
- Completes opening work assignments for the room attendants
- Covers shifts when associates call in sick or no show for shifts. If required notes reason for not finding coverage and contacts Manager or Manager on Duty for operational support
- Asks the Manager or a Manager on Duty to authorize overtime that might be needed
- Verifies that vacant rooms are ready
- Inspects rooms regarding cleanliness to ensure guest satisfaction
- Verifies rooms with guests that are due out and ensures the guest has checked out
- Completes closing work assignments
- Trains and motivates associates to ensure brand standards
- Displays a respectful and positive attitude, maintains enthusiasm and celebrates successes
- Communicates any problem areas to the Housekeeping Manager, outlining possible solutions
- Maintains a favorable working relationships with all hotel associates to foster and promote cooperative and harmonious work climate
- Sets goals and standards while finding solutions that are beneficial to guests and associates, while meeting deadlines that are decisive and achievement oriented.
- Understanding of the need for different communication styles needed to relay information to many different cultures
- Is approachable, and considerate.
- Inspect public areas at least once per shift.
- Assist as needed with cleaning guestrooms and public space
- Understands hospitality and the desire to create an amazing guest experience every time.
- Maintains relationship with Engineering through the proper communication tools.
- Coordinates guest requests such as maintenance, additional supplies
- Work closely with the Maintenance Department to determine which rooms need improvement.
- Evaluate condition of furniture, fixtures, décor, etc. Make recommendations and assist in the coordination of preventative maintenance program and rehab projects.
- Work closely with the Front Office Department to ensure room requirements for incoming guests are met in a timely manner
- Collecting, tracking, and returning any lost and found items
- Work with Housepersons to count and keep an accurate record of linen to be ordered every quarter
- Maintains proper chemical and amenity inventories.
- Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly.
- Reports injuries and near misses as per legislated guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned
Work Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year room attendant experience
- Previous supervisory experience is an asset
- Exceptionally strong guest service skills to ensure superior guest service
- Excellent communication skills
- Team-player who is able to recognize the value of guests and associates
- Passion and drive to work and excel in the Hospitality Industry
- Able to multi-task and meet deadlines
