About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Traffic Associate who has the primary objective to coordinate, administer and monitor both international and domestic freight payables for Canada, plus coordinate the movement of air shipments to North America.
More specifically, some of your responsibilities include:
- Prepare and manage wire payment package weekly for vendors
- Manage payables for all carriers, check all freight invoices (enter via Sage X3 system)
- Review incoming/outgoing/courier/trucking/customers/samples and via traffic module for shipment related payables
- Enter Vancouver and Toronto freight payables and other traffic payables into Sage X3, and, after signing, mailing cheques to suppliers
- Check and confirm that charges are applied for brokerage/forwarder/local suppliers payables into Sage X3 and process payment
- Monitor customs releases and update in Sage X3, review and approve duty rates for customs brokers
- Submit month end accruals to finance, reconcile CBSA transaction amounts for finance team
- Review all costs associated with duties, brokerage, air/ocean and cartage billings for incoming shipments to two separate warehouses
- Address customs compliance inquiries for Canada
- Support team with vendor negotiations to ensure most competitive rates are maintained by our carriers
- Handle freight claims related to damages, delayed shipments and invoice inquiries
- Perform freight analysis as requested
About You
We are looking for someone with 5 years of experience in a logistics coordinator role with experience using a computerized MRP system. Knowledge of business principles specific to logistics, as well as basic accounting principles, and intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Office (especially Excel, are needed to be successful.
The top competencies sought are freight forwarding and customs knowledge, as well as strong collaboration and problem solving skills.
