Position Summary
LABOURER / SAFETY WATCH
The Safety Watch person will be trained in Fire Watch position or Confined Space Entry and Monitoring Watch Person. They will be responsible for communicating with emergency response personnel. The designated Safety Watch Person reminds workers across the site to follow appropriate safety precautions and protocol, Watches over specific tasks that present significant hazard, and acts as a first responder and an emergency response coordinator if an incident occurs.
Key Responsibilities
· Ability to work in an industrial and safety minded environment
· Participate in daily tailgate meetings
· Must have and wear proper PPE for the designated job
· Responsible for confined space activities and record entrance and exit on log sheet
· Monitor Hot Works Activities and know how to operate fire extinguisher, notify supervisor and safely evacuate the area
· Maintain safety standards in the performance of duties
· Related duties as required

The following are required in the position:
· Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
· The ability to stand for long periods of time, and do moderately heavy lifting through the shift
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Able to work under pressure and on tight deadlines
· Current Drivers License
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
Licence/Certification:
- Drivers License (preferred)
- Confined Space Entry and Monitoring Certification (preferred)
- Hot works permit or equivalent (preferred)
