Fair Haven Homes Society is looking for Permanent & Casual Licensed Practical Nurses for Burnaby and Vancouver Long Term Care Homes!
Shift times are: Day: 7:00 am -3:00 pm / Evening: 3:00 - 11:00 pm / Night: 11:00 pm - 7:00 am

You possess a diploma in Practical Nursing and clinical skills applicable to gerontological nursing. New graduates are also welcome!
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates resident care needs, including physiological, psychological, socio-cultural, and spiritual.
- Provides direct resident care including administration of medications and treatment.
- Reports problems and/or changes to Registered Nurse or Nurse Manager.
- Communicates, participates, and consults with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality resident-focused care.
- Maintains paper and electronic documents for accuracy and relevancy, and ensures confidentiality is followed as per policies.
- Provides work direction to other care staff.
- Contributes and maintains a safe environment for residents, family and staff
- Participates in continuous quality improvement, education sessions, resident care conferences, meetings, and committees.
- Provides first aid treatment to staff and residents.
- Performs other related duties as required.
What you bring:
Education, Training, Experience:
- Graduate of an approved school of practical nursing
- Current full practicing licensure with the BC College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
- Valid CPR
- Previous experience in Gerontology Nursing an asset.
Job Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in the English language.
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize work, and problem-solve.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Knowledge and competencies to work at the full scope of practice as currently required by the BCCNM.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Computer literacy
