JOB SUMMARY
Hestia is looking for a Foreman who is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of our construction teams. Your leadership skills, technical expertise and strong communication abilities will be essential in ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time and to the Hestia standards of quality. This role will report to the Site Supervisor and work with our team of project managers and other stakeholders.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate with Site Superintendent on tasks for the project
- Oversee and implement QA/QC throughout the lifecycle of the project
- Coordinate and plan daily activities of on-site subtrades
- Brief and direct site team about daily tasks
- Supervise, mentor and train site team as required
- Ensure accuracy and proficiency of site team
- Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the site
- Manage tools and equipment resources
- Identify, eliminate, and document risks and hazards
- Responsible for tracking and data entry of hours for timesheets
- Oversee and complete the Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA) process, as well as any other site paperwork
- Observe and enforce Work Safe Practices
- Monitor, detect and respond to unsafe or hazardous conditions
- Monitor and guide compliance with building and safety regulations
- Other duties as required by the Site Superintendent
- 50% of you day you will be require to be working with tools and/or as directed
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proven 5 to 10 years of experience in large construction projects
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods and materials
- Excellent communication, leadership and time-management skills
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong understanding of safety practices or certification in first aid
- Valid driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle
- Experience with using MS Office applications
- Experience with Procore is an asset
