Job Title: IT Field Technician (Full-Time / Contract)
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Reports to: Field Operations Manager
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate + mileage + performance bonuses (commensurate with experience)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite break/fix support for desktops, laptops, servers, printers, POS systems, and retail hardware.
- Perform hardware installations, upgrades, migrations, and configurations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently while maintaining clear communication with clients.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and system health checks.
- Install and configure networking equipment, peripherals, and software applications.
- Manage service tickets from intake to closure with accurate documentation.
- Represent OnTime Tech Solution professionally at client sites.
- Collaborate with internal team and vendor partners to deliver exceptional service.
- Travel to client locations as required (company vehicle or personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement).
Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on IT field service experience (retail/POS environment is a strong asset).
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, basic networking, hardware troubleshooting, and peripheral devices.
- IT Technical certifications such as ComptiaA+, Network+
- Experience with POS systems (e.g., NCR, Verifone, Square, or similar) is highly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record with reliable transportation.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Own tools and basic diagnostic equipment.
- Flexible availability for occasional after-hours or weekend work.
- Criminal background check and references required.
- Ability to speak English and French
