Entry Level Environmental Scientist
- Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
- Collects and enters data, and applies technical principles and theories.
- Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
- Degree in science or related field required.
- Environmental engineering graduates will also be considered for this position.
+ Bachelor’s degree in geology, environmental science or other related discipline (e.g., geophysics, hydrogeology, geochemistry, environmental geology, engineering geology, environmental engineering).
+ 0 to 2 years of consulting experience.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills.
+ General knowledge of basic relevant position-specific principles (e.g. geologic) and the environmental sciences.
+ Proficiency in standard office suite software applications.
+ Ability to write and to convey complex thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise manner and learn through on-the-job experience.
+ Position requires a tolerance for working in outdoor environments in a range of weather conditions.
+ Must be able to bend, stoop and lift objects up to 50 pounds and safely drive a full-size pickup truck.
+ Must have a valid driver’s license in province of residence.
+ Master’s Degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
+ OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER and OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour safety training courses.
+ Database, GIS, CAD, visualization software skills are desirable.
+ Passing applicable Professional Practice Exam (e.g. Professional Engineers and/or Geoscientists) is recommended.
+ Ability to work independently.
+ Ability to travel, including extended travel, when necessary.
+ Ability to interact effectively with internal and external clients
+ Bilingual (English and French) an asset
