1. Front Store Associate
Role Summary: The Front Store Associate is the face of the pharmacy. This role focuses on delivering excellent customer service, maintaining store appearance, managing inventory on the floor, and processing transactions accurately.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, assist them in finding over-the-counter (OTC) medications or health products, and direct them to the pharmacy counter for prescription inquiries.
- Point of Sale (POS) Operations: Efficiently operate the cash register, process cash, debit, credit, and loyalty program transactions, and handle returns or exchanges according to store policy.
- Merchandising & Stocking: Receive shipments, unpack boxes, price items, and stock shelves. Ensure products are front-faced, organized, and properly rotated (checking for expired OTC products).
- Store Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming shopping environment by dusting shelves, sweeping floors, and keeping the checkout area tidy.
- Compliance: Adhere to Ontario regulations regarding the sale of age-restricted products or specific behind-the-counter non-prescription items.
2. Front Store Assistant Manager
Role Summary: The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager or Pharmacist-Owner in overseeing daily front-store operations. They lead the retail team, manage inventory control, handle cash reconciliation, and ensure the front store runs smoothly to support the pharmacy's clinical operations.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Supervision: Supervise Front Store Associates, assist with shift scheduling, and train new hires on customer service standards and POS systems.
- Inventory & Vendor Management: Monitor stock levels, place orders for OTC medications and front-store merchandise, and coordinate with vendors. Manage inventory discrepancies and damages.
- Financial Accountability: Open and close the store, perform daily cash register reconciliations, prepare bank deposits, and manage float amounts.
- Operations & Problem Solving: Handle escalated customer complaints professionally. Ensure marketing displays, flyers, and promotional pricing are accurately set up.
- Pharmacy Collaboration: Work closely with the pharmacy technical staff and Pharmacist to ensure seamless communication, especially regarding OTC recommendations and prescription pickup workflows.
Recommended Job Qualifications
- For the Assistant Manager: 1–2 years of retail supervisory experience (pharmacy or health retail experience highly preferred); strong organizational skills; proficiency with retail POS and inventory software.
Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
