ABOUT OUR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:
Our 8 month program is an opportunity for students enrolled in a post-secondary education program to gain hands-on experience in the live event technology industry. This is a paid internship with a 40 hour a week schedule. Interns will work a hybrid schedule from one of our physical locations (Dallas or Montreal).
The program is set to start on January 6, 2025 and end on August 8, 2025. As with all of our new hires, we look for motivated people who exemplify our core values to join our team.
As a Leap Event Technology intern, you will:

We are seeking a motivated and talented Software Engineer Intern to join our team and work on our cloud native backend platform in C# with web frontend applications in JavaScript/Angular. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in software development while contributing to real-world projects in the Live Events domain. In addition to backend and/or frontend development, there is an opportunity to work on the data and reporting aspects using MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
AS A SOFTWARE ENGINEER INTERN, YOU WILL:
Collaborate with the development team to design, develop, and maintain cloud-based software solutions.
Assist in building and enhancing web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript and Angular.
Contribute to the development of the backend microservices platform in C#.
Participate in the design and implementation of data storage and reporting solutions using MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
Write clean, maintainable code and adhere to best coding practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address user needs.
Conduct code reviews and assist in troubleshooting and debugging.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Strong programming skills in either C# or JavaScript (or related programming languages with interest to learn our stack)

Basic understanding of databases, including MongoDB and PostgreSQL.

Knowledge of software development principles and practices.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

A passion for learning and the ability to adapt to new technologies quickly.
BONUS POINTS:
Previous internship or project experience in software development.
Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Knowledge of Kubernetes and Microservices architecture.

Exposure to agile development methodologies.
