Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Surveyor to join our team for exciting projects in Northern British Columbia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting precise field surveys, establishing survey control from local monuments, and supporting construction activities using Trimble surveying equipment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on major infrastructure projects while applying advanced surveying techniques in a dynamic field environment.
Duties
- Conduct field surveys to gather accurate spatial data using Trimble GPS and total station equipment.
- Establish, verify, and maintain survey control networks from local monuments and existing control points.
- Perform construction staking, as-built surveys, and topographic surveys.
- Collect, analyze, and manage survey data for project requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, foremen, and construction personnel to support project execution.
- Ensure all surveying activities comply with safety standards and project specifications.
- Assist in the development and implementation of survey methodologies tailored to project requirements.
- Maintain accurate field notes, records, and survey documentation.
- Support UAV data collection operations when required.
Skills
- Proficiency in the use of Trimble GPS and total station equipment.
- Strong understanding of survey control networks and control adjustments.
- Experience with construction staking and industrial or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of field data collection techniques and survey best practices.
- Ability to operate surveying equipment accurately and efficiently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication skills for working with multidisciplinary project teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years survey experience
- Education in Geomatics considered and asset
- Flexible and willing to work overtime as required to meet project schedules.
- UAV/Drone Pilot Certificate ( Advanced) is considered an asset.
- Experience working on transmission line, pipeline, or large-scale infrastructure projects is an asset.
- Strong understanding of survey control, coordinate systems, and construction survey practices.
