Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and highly organized Restaurant/Bar Manager to help lead our operations and shape the guest experience at Tap & Timber Social. We are a dine-in restaurant with year-round food truck style menu, seasonal beer garden with a wide selection of craft and domestic beer, ciders, and ready-to-drink beverages. This is a hands-on, full-time salaried role ideal for a self-motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Reporting directly to the Owners, the Restaurant/Bar Manager will oversee the daily operations of the Dining Room, food truck, patio and garden seating (when open in season) with minimal supervision. This role is critical to the long-term operation of the venue, and the successful candidate will be empowered to help build a strong, positive workplace culture from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations
- Lead the hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling of staff
- Development and maintenance of operational procedures
- Foster a positive and professional team culture, emphasizing hospitality and accountability
- Conduct performance evaluations, team meetings, and coaching sessions
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels; order stock and supplies as needed
- Control food and labour costs
- Handle cash management and POS system operations
- Ensure all areas meet or exceed cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Oversee compliance with all food safety, liquor, and workplace safety regulations
- Manage opening and closing duties, and ensure operational readiness each day
- Address guest concerns professionally and ensure top-tier customer service
- Work collaboratively with ownership on marketing initiatives, promotions, and seasonal offerings.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing in a bar, restaurant, or beverage-focused setting
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Proven ability to train, motivate, and support a diverse team
- Knowledge of domestic and craft beer, ciders, and RTD beverages is a strong asset
- Food Safety and Responsible Alcohol Serving Program for Managers certifications (or willingness to obtain prior to employment)
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Comfortable working independently and making confident, informed decisions
- Reliable, adaptable, and solutions-focused – especially during the growth phases of the business

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
