Overview
The Community Association is seeking dedicated Custodial Services professionals to maintain cleanliness and safety at the community centre facility. This role is essential in ensuring a hygienic, organized, and welcoming environment for community members, visitors, and guests. Candidates should be reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to high standards of cleanliness. Prior experience in cleaning or facilities maintenance is a plus but not required, as training will be provided. This position will require additonal effort and hours of work during the winter season.
Cleaning supplies and equipment are provided.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal to maintain cleanliness of designated areas.
- Conduct commercial cleaning of office, restrooms, rental halls, kitchen, hallways, and common areas according to established standards.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, monitoring and reporting status of cleaning products inventory, and reporting larger issues to the Director, Facility Operations.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly used and stored safely.
- Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain a schedule of regular cleaning duties while accommodating special requests or urgent cleaning needs.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.
- Must be available 5-6 days of week for a minimum of 2 hours per day.
- Must have an alternate team member available as a backup during absence due to illness, scheduling conflicts, vacation, etc.
Skills
- Experience in cleaning or commercial cleaning is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
- Knowledge of facilities maintenance and basic repair skills are advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure thorough cleaning standards are met.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills for reporting issues or requesting supplies.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Commitment to safety procedures and maintaining a clean, hazard-free environment.
