Summary
We are seeking a charismatic person to supervise a team of Personal Support Workers (PSWs) as they assist Residents in all aspects of daily living in accordance with the individualized support care plan.
Responsibilities
- Ensure PSWs understand their job responsibilities, the standards of performance for their positions and receive adequate training, counseling, and coaching to meet these standards.
- Ensure PSWs adhere to the Home Care and Community Services Act, 1994, the Long-Term Care Act, 2007, the Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of persons with Developmental Disabilities Act, 2008, and Participation House, Markham’s Statement on the Rights for Persons with a Developmental Disability.
- Provide guidance, support, advice and expertise to staff to ensure effective, efficient and Resident focused operations.
- Manage PSWs scheduling, replacement procedures, payroll administration, and annual performance evaluations, ensuring the terms of the Collective Agreement and Policies and Procedures are followed.
- Review PSW workload and resident acuity with Care Teams to ensure adequate staffing and resources; make recommendations to Senior Management.
- Participate in the interviewing, selection, and onboarding of new hires.
- Maintain all documentation (PSW and resident) to ensure compliance with MCSS, Quality Assurance Measures and any other legislative compliance.
- Ensure training, certification, and licensing needs for PSWs are kept up to date and are accurately documented.
- Provide and maintain supplies and equipment within the outlined budget to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years Proven supervisory experience in an acute care setting, rehabilitation/restorative care, or long-term care setting.
- Experience in a non-profit environment is an asset
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams.
- Current First Aid and CPR Training.
- Current Crisis Prevention and Intervention Certificate

Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
