About the Role:
The Registered Nurse will be a valued member of CHCA - Travel Nurse Team, providing culturally safe care for Indigenous patients and families in remote, isolated or semi-isolated areas across Northern BC.
This approach includes delivery of primary care and public health services through a set of integrated and accessible health care services. Public health involves working collaboratively with community members to identify health priorities while addressing and promoting community health care prevention.
Requirements
Experience:
To be considered for this position, you must have but not limited to:
3000 hours of clinical experience acquired within the last 3 years.
Experience related to performing complex activities in a wide variety of situations in either of the following areas: Primary / Acute / Intensive care, Urgent / Emergency care Or Community health (public health and home and community care)
Education & Credentials:
- Recognized Canadian Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Valid BCCNM license in good standing
- Having an up to date certification in the following areas:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers issued by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and International Trauma Life Support (ITLS)
- Valid class “G” or equivalent driver's license
- Mask-fit Tested
- WHMIS
- TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods)
- Medical Clearance from applicant’s primary care provider
- Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance / Background check
Profile:
Willingness and ability to travel in small aircraft, off road vehicles and by boat in varied weather conditions to communities in remote and isolated areas
Being comfortable working in a rigorous and diverse work environment
May be required to be temporarily reassigned to other communities as operationally required
Flexibility to perform on call duties, work after hours/overnight, and on weekends as required
Eager to complete mandatory education/training relevant to the position
