Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Renovation Labourer or trades person to join our team. In this position, you will work with skilled tradespeople and contractors on construction sites, performing manual labour tasks to support the construction process. Your duties will include cleaning and preparing construction sites, moving materials and equipment, and performing other tasks as needed. The type of work we do includes custom home renovations, garage builds, decks and fences, basement finishing and more.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and prepare construction sites, including removing debris and waste
- Move materials and equipment around the site as needed
- Assist skilled tradespeople and contractors with manual labour tasks
- Perform general maintenance and upkeep of tools and equipment
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve project goals
- Perform other manual labour tasks as needed
Requirements:
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Basic understanding of construction techniques and methods
- Ability to follow instructions and take direction
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in construction or a related field
- Familiarity with safety protocols and guidelines
- Ability to operate basic construction equipment (e.g. drills, saws, etc.)
- Bonus skills if there is experience in finishing/cabinet installation/trim installation
Working Conditions:
- Construction sites, which may be outdoors or indoors
- May be exposed to extreme weather conditions, loud noises, and hazardous materials
- Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
