- Able to provide daily care (emotional, physical, educational, and health) to persons served in our program.
- Responsible to complete the person served intake, orientation, and to develop a service plan based on the information presented.
- Maintain person served files and house logs.
- Accompany person served to all appointments i.e.: health, probation, case worker, school, and employment, volunteer, and recreation activities.
- Create an environment based upon trust, caring, and respect and to encourage the person served to meet all identified tasks.
- Ensure that the program facility and service objectives are met.
- Advocate with the person served and their family/guardian (if applicable) for formal and informal community support networks.
- Complete daily documentation requirements within program time frames. All other indirect and direct person served duties as assigned.
- The Agency will have 1 front line staff member for each shift.
- All shifts are “awake” shifts and sleeping while on duty is not allowed. (unless otherwise stated)
- Attend monthly staff and Agency annual meetings.
- Any other program related duties deemed necessary by your immediate supervisor or agency management.
- Support and advocate with the individual in connecting to community access and activities.
- Encourage family visits and monitor interaction (if applicable).
- Develop a community mapping resource list for the program.
- Support and encourage person served involvement within the community either formally or informally.
- Provide healthy recreational activities for the person served in the program.
- Ensure that all safety precautions are adhered to before any planned outings for staff and persons served.
What you bring to the position:
- Superior oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Must have class 5 Alberta License with minimum of 3 years expereience driving. Must be willing to drive clients in their vehicle.
- Specialized training in family dynamics, medication administration, life skills, therapeutic interventions, crisis intervention, working with People with disabilities, community development, aboriginal/cultural awareness, Abuse Protocol, TCI training, First Aid and CPR, suicide intervention and self-harm.
- Strong self awareness and a good sense of boundaries.
- Experience in Positive support behavior
- Ability to be flexible and pivot when needed.
- Experience working with persons that display aggressive behaviors.
- Experience working with addictions and harm reduction.
- Take responsibility for receiving and updating any expiring necessary training required by the programs.

- A degree or diploma in a human service field or actively enrolled in a related educational program.
- Special knowledge and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in all areas of persons with disabilities, family dynamics and community inclusion.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
